Background Check

Effective with the 2011 soccer season, any referees, 18 years of age and older, officiating Youth Games for the Illinois Youth Soccer Association (IYSA) and all Assessors, Assignors and Instructors in Illinois must fill out a Background Check every other year.  If you had a Background Check in 2010, you will not need another one until 2012.  The cost of the Background Check, at your own expense, is $5.00 payable by credit card on-line.

 In order to fill out a Background Check please follow the instructions listed below:

• go to the Illinois Youth Soccer Association web-site at www.iysa.org,
• along the left side, click on "Background Search,"
• it will say 2008-2009 - ingore that and proceed,
• using the drop down box, click on Referee and then click Go, (be careful not to hit the "scroll" button on your mouse or it may change to a different category,causing delays),
• follow the instructions in filling out the Volunteer Application/Disclosure Statement/Consent for Background Check,
• allow 5-7 BUSINESS DAYS for completion!
• DO NOT wait until a few days before your first game to complete.  If Assignors call, the Office will adivse them to take you off the game/s until Background Check is complete!

If you turn 18 years old during the course of the year, you must complete a Background Check at the time of your 18th birthday.
